Are you a confident leader with experience in catering operations and large team supervision? Vertas is looking for a dedicated Team Leader to join our team at County Enterprise Foods.

About the Role: Based at County Enterprise Foods, S81 7DW, working 37 hours per week, this is a varied, hands on leadership role working on a rota basis across multiple departments. You will spend:

  • 2 weeks overseeing kitchen operations, supervising 5-7 cooks
  • 2 weeks within chilling and packing departments, supervising up to 12-13 staff

You will play a key role in ensuring food production, packing and distribution runs smoothly, safely and to a consistently high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supervising teams across kitchen, chilling and packing departments
  • Managing staff rotas and overseeing cleaning schedules to ensure high hygiene standards
  • Ensuring food is produced, handled and stored in line with all food safety regulations
  • Monitoring food temperatures, allergen controls and compliance at all stages
  • Supporting large scale, mass food production with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Overseeing packing outputs, ensuring orders are completed correctly and on time
  • Maintaining excellent communication with different departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Leading by example, supporting and motivating your team

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in a catering, food production or manufacturing environment
  • Experience supervising teams, ideally across multiple departments
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification or Level 2 with willingness to progress to Level 3 (training provided)
  • C&G 706/1, 706/2, or NVQ Level 3 equivalent
  • Strong understanding of allergens, food safety regulations and temperature controls
  • High attention to detail, particularly within large scale food production
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate larger teams in a fast paced environment
