Shropshire Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join its Case Management Team (North East). This role offers an opportunity to work with children and families across the full statutory spectrum, supporting them through Child in Need, Child Protection, Pre-Proceedings and court processes. You will manage a varied caseload, ensuring timely interventions and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Location: Shropshire Council (North East Team)
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office
Contract: 3 months initially
Rate: £30.57 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children and families across CIN, CP, PLO, and court proceedings
- Undertake regular home visits to assess risk and support families
- Lead and participate in core group meetings and multi-agency discussions
- Prepare high-quality court reports and documentation for legal proceedings
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and partner agencies
- Assess risk and implement effective safeguarding plans
- Ensure all work is completed in line with statutory requirements and best practice
About You:
- Be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
- Have strong experience within a case management / safeguarding team
- Be confident managing cases across CIN, CP, PLO, and court work
- Demonstrate excellent report writing and analytical skills
- Be skilled in multi-agency working and safeguarding practice
- Have the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
