Shropshire Council is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Lead to support the delivery of data-led decision making across Adult Social Care and Housing services on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking Insight Team at a key time, helping deliver high-quality intelligence to support service improvement, transformation programmes, and strategic decision-making. You will act as the lead expert for data, performance, and insight, working closely with senior leaders to provide clear, accurate and actionable analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of business intelligence and performance insights for Adult & Housing services
  • Act as the key point of contact for senior leaders, including the Director of Adult Social Services
  • Support transformation programmes, including demand modelling and service redesign
  • Lead on CQC inspection and peer review intelligence requirements
  • Drive improvements in data quality, reporting, and performance management
  • Develop forecasting models to support planning and service delivery
  • Promote innovative use of data, including dashboards and automation
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners across the health and social care system
  • Identify key trends, risks and opportunities to inform strategic decisions

About You

  • Strong experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or performance management
  • Background in public sector, ideally within Adult Social Care or Housing
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience supporting service transformation and improvement programmes
  • Strong analytical skills, including forecasting and data modelling
  • Experience leading or managing teams is desirable
  • Passion for using data to drive better outcomes
