Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for a dedicated Taxi Licensing Service Support Officer to support their Environmental Health / Regulatory Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy service and play a key role in ensuring taxi licensing processes are delivered efficiently and in line with legislation.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Processing applications for taxi and private hire licences
- Providing advice to drivers, operators and members of the public
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on internal databases
- Liaising with internal teams and external agencies regarding licensing matters
- Supporting the administration of licensing processes for vehicles, drivers and operators
General duties in this role include:
- Ensuring compliance with licensing legislation and council policies
- Producing and issuing licences within required timescales
- Managing data in line with Data Protection requirements
- Delivering excellent customer service across all interactions
- Supporting continuous improvement within the service
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in taxi licensing or a similar regulatory/administrative environment
- Knowledge of licensing legislation and processes
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience using IT systems and Microsoft Office
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
