About the Role
Based at High Lodge Café, Thetford, IP27 0AF, this role is 37.5 hours per week, including bank holidays and weekends. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality service. As a Catering Supervisor, you will oversee food production and preparation, ensuring all catering operations run smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Duties
- Supervise and manage the catering team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
- Coordinate food production and preparation for various events, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality presentation.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all catering activities.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their catering needs and preferences, ensuring satisfaction with the service provided.
- Train and mentor staff in food preparation techniques, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Assist with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and client feedback.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock levels of food supplies and equipment, placing orders when necessary.
- Ensure all catering equipment is properly cleaned and maintained after each event.
Experience
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or catering industry.
- Strong background in food production, preparation, and food safety practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while creating a positive working environment.
- Experience in restaurant or catering operations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of bartending practices is an advantage but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with clients and colleagues.
- A passion for delivering high‐quality service in fast‐paced environments.
