Team Mission
Be the force multiplier that amplifies tech leadership impact across OakNorth. You will work directly with the CTO and senior engineering leaders, gaining unique visibility into strategic decisions while building critical operational and technical skills. This role is for someone who wants to learn fast, make tangible impact from day one, and develop the judgment and execution capability that defines great technical leaders. You will remove friction, drive clarity, and create the space for the team to do their best work—turning chaos into capability.
The Role
- Run cohort onboarding programmes including scheduling, materials, checklists and follow ups
- Coordinate vendors and manage light vendor relationships and delivery trackers
- Gather, reconcile and maintain reporting inputs linked to senior manager responsibilities and risk logs
- Perform research and produce concise briefings that support technical and regulatory decisions
- Own meeting administration for tech leadership: agendas, notes, actions and escalation tracking
- Maintain and improve the Tech Ops knowledge base, runbooks and standard templates
- Support sandbox and environment provisioning requests and basic CI/CD deployment coordination where appropriate
- Assist with data collection and dashboards that surface delivery health, risks and blockers
- Drive small continuous improvement initiatives that remove common friction points
What We’re Looking For
- Graduate or early-career technologist with strong organisation and communication skills
- Comfortable reading technical documentation and translating it into clear summaries for senior stakeholders
- Able to work independently, follow up relentlessly and manage multiple small workstreams
- Curious, pragmatic and outcomes focused with a bias to reduce senior cognitive load
Core capabilities
- Strong written communication and ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable summaries
- Systematic approach to project coordination and task tracking with attention to detail
- Comfortable learning new tools quickly and building lightweight automation to reduce manual work
Technical baseline
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and engineering workflows
- Able to read technical documentation, API specs, and architectural diagrams
- SQL or similar query languages for basic data extraction and reconciliation
- Strong AI literacy: comfortable using AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor to accelerate research, documentation, and problem solving
Technology
- Notion for knowledge management, runbooks, and process documentation
- AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) for research, drafting, analysis, and automation
- Slack for coordination and stakeholder communication
- Spreadsheets and lightweight BI tools for reporting dashboards and metrics tracking
- Basic familiarity with GitHub, AWS, and deployment workflows (you will learn on the job)
- Automation tools like Zapier, Make, or Python scripts for workflow improvements
Success Metrics
- Measured reduction in senior leadership admin hours per week or month
- Improved onboarding time to productivity for cohorts or reduced time-to-first-deploy for new joiners
- Action closure rate from leadership meetings and reduction in outstanding blockers
- Quality and timeliness score for SMF and regulatory reporting inputs
- Stakeholder satisfaction for vendor coordination and Tech Ops support
