An innovative and fast-growing engineering company is looking for a Principal RF Systems Engineer to play a key role in shaping next-generation RF test and measurement technology. The Role

  • You’ll take a lead position in defining and delivering RF system solutions, working across both RF and digital domains.
  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Defining RF and digital system architectures for new products
    • Designing RF and FPGA-based PCB schematics
    • Debugging and resolving issues across prototype builds
    • Defining and implementing calibration processes
    • Contributing to DSP, firmware or software development
    • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers

This is a genuinely mixed role – ideal for someone who enjoys both big-picture system thinking and hands-on engineering.

  • They’re open on level, but you’ll likely bring:
    • Core experience:
      • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics or similar
      • Strong background in RF electronics (GHz range)
      • Experience specifying and designing RF systems
      • Confident with RF test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyser, etc.)
      • Experience debugging high-frequency PCBs
      • Understanding of RF performance metrics (NF, IP3, SFDR etc.)
      • Comfortable leading projects while remaining hands-on
  • Nice to have:
    • PCB layout experience
    • Python for test/automation
    • Bluetooth or wireless systems
    • Antenna design
    • High-speed digital (USB, PCIe)
    • FPGA (Xilinx / Verilog / SystemVerilog)
