Support Worker for a young Adult
Full-Time | Day and/or Night Shifts
Could you be the perfect teammate?
We're looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and fun-loving Support Workers to join the team supporting a sociable gentleman in his 40s who is living with a traumatic brain injury.
But here's the thing⦠his brain injury doesn't define him, and neither should his support!
He's a football enthusiast who loves watching the beautiful game just as much as getting involved himself. He enjoys getting out and about, spending time with friends and family, having a laugh and making the most of life.
With a wonderfully dry sense of humour and an incredibly sociable personality, he's looking for people who can match his energy, appreciate his wit and help him continue doing the things that make him, him!
About this role
β½ What's the game plan?
This isn't simply about providing care. It's about building a genuine connection, promoting independence and ensuring life continues to be filled with purpose, friendships, laughter and opportunities.
You'll be supporting him to:
β½ Enjoy football, whether watching a match or getting involved.
πΆ Get out into the community, explore opportunities and maintain his social connections.
π€ Spend meaningful time with friends and family.
πͺ Maintain his independence, choices and daily routines.
π©Ί Safely manage his diabetes, including blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration.
He currently manages his own personal care independently, and our approach is about supporting what he can do, rather than taking over.
Full training and competency assessment will be provided for diabetes management, blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration.
π Who are we looking for?
You don't need to be a football expert (although knowing the offside rule might come in handy!).
What matters most is your personality, attitude and ability to build a positive, trusting relationship.
Our ideal teammate will bring:
-
A fantastic sense of humour β this really is essential!
-
A warm, outgoing and sociable personality.
-
A genuine belief in independence, choice and positive risk-taking.
-
Patience, understanding and an ability to adapt their communication and approach.
-
A willingness to get involved, whether that's a football match, a day out or simply sharing a good laugh.
-
Previous support worker experience is preferable.
-
SSSC registration, or eligibility and willingness to register within the required timescale.
-
A commitment to continued professional learning and development.
π More than a support role. Be part of someone's life!
We're not looking for someone to organise his life around a care schedule.
We're looking for someone who can help him build his days around the life he wants to live.
Someone who recognises that success might be a brilliant afternoon at the football, meeting friends, trying something new or simply having a good laugh together.
π£ Interested in joining the team?
Full-time opportunities available β day and/or night shifts.
If you believe great support starts with great relationships, we'd love to hear from you!

Life still happens here.
