Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with an expanding organisation based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team as a HR Operations Manager on a full-time permanent basis

Personality
You will be responsible for leading and managing the shared service teams in the provision of a professional HR administrative and advisory service to colleagues, in support of the people strategy. You will be creating a culture of operational service excellence whilst building operating capability to maximise contribution.

Job Role:
- Managing, empowering and developing the capability of the team, through effective coaching and performance management to ensure the customer-focused delivery of core HR processes.
- Supporting the implementation of our HR Transformation through both the ongoing development of the HR service delivery operating model to drive efficiencies and capacity to enable increased value-add activity from the team.
- Acting as a champion for the new HR system, working with the team to maximise the value of the system to develop compliant, effective processes and support / encourage manager self-service.
- Developing and monitoring KPI’s & SLA’s that drive performance and service excellence, ensuring that they are reviewed regularly to ensure these meet the evolving needs of the business.
- Managing and providing support to Payroll Team Leader to ensure services and outputs of external payroll partner are managed effectively.
- Contributing to the annual strategy and planning cycle to enable effective prioritisation and resource management.
- Ensuring that the Risk Management framework is embedded within the team, and that risk, issues and incidents are identified and reported and managed in line with the business process.
- Managing the local budget for the team; be commercially aware and support and challenge ongoing cost control and savings across the business.
- Using HR analytics to effectively measure people KPI’s and develop plans to improve performance on areas including absence and turnover, to include provision of appropriate dashboards the team
- Taking the lead and provide governance for HR services projects and completion of regulatory and governance submissions, working with the relevant team members.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team through critically reviewing processes so that best practice is achieved, and efficiencies are made to include identifying opportunities for process automation.
- Supporting implementation of key HR annual processes to ensure effective delivery in the business, such as EOS, annual pay and bonus processes.
- Building internal/external relationships to keep ahead of emerging trends, ideas and industry/sector insights, and leverage opportunities to share and develop new insights.
- Managing the development of the HR system within the team, ensuring ongoing monitoring of performance and the contract, and timely escalation of system and data issues.
- Working closely with Procurement and other stakeholders to develop the HR Supplier Management Model, ensuring that we are leveraging continuous improvement opportunities through effective relationship management.
Skills and experience:
- Experience of managing a range of operational HR issues, supporting business as usual requirements and projects, including researching problems and solutions and presenting back options/recommendations
- Proven ability to drive manage a high-volume service with a strong focus on the customer experience
- A good knowledge of HR and payroll services, underpinned by a sound understanding of HR related technology, systems and processes
- Experience of managing and developing a team within a People Services environment
- Ideally CIPD level 5 qualified
- Keen and interested in learning and their own personal development by being involved in a wide range of activities and experiences
- Understanding of risk management in a regulated environment
- Able to drive HR service delivery through monitoring and measuring performance using appropriate MI and KPI’s
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Collaborative and happy to work in a matrix environment across the team
- Sound working knowledge of employment law
- Curious and open to new ideas and ways of working
