Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with an established organisation based in the South East. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team as an Area Sales Manager covering the Surrey and Kent areas on a full-time permanent basis

This is a field‑based role where you’ll spend four days on the road meeting clients, with one day each week at the modern Tamworth office to connect with the wider team and share best practices.
Personality
As an Area Sales Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving revenue by proactively promoting and selling the company’s product range. You’ll be responsible for achieving sales targets and KPIs while supporting the continued growth and success of the brand.

Job Role:
- Diary management and planning to ensure that your time is utilised in the most productive and effective way
- Fully preparing for and attending appointments with both existing and prospective customers to build and maintain strong relationships
- Researching and prospecting of new contacts and responding to any sales leads promptly
- Identifying any future markets, product requirements and enhancements
- Attending exhibitions and industry events to gain new business leads
- Updating with new prospect contacts and customer information and visit notes
- Ensuring records are kept accurate and up to date
- Analyzing and maintaining industry knowledge of competitors and their products
- Providing quotations and managing ongoing pricing reviews
- Constantly look for opportunities to up‑sell and add on sales
- Promptly following up sample and quotations to convert to sales
- Providing PR opportunities whenever possible
- Checking customer sales history and purchasing trends to ensure they are ordering all possible product lines
- Achieving all monthly / annual sales targets and KPI’s
- Assisting with technical queries
- Effectively managing customer complaints and queries
- Taking all necessary steps to resolve matters promptly (for example product testing and site visits)
- Undertaking duties in accordance with all relevant management systems and controls
Skills and experience:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a Business Development role
- Proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets and KPIs
- Excellent relationship‑building skills
- Leadership and diary management
- Retention and objection handling
- Full UK driving license
- Experience with the SAP system is advantageous
