Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with an expanding organisation based in Tamworth. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team as an Operations Manager on a full-time permanent basis.

Package and Benefits
- 1pm -10pm – Monday – Friday
- Pension: 3% employer contribution, 4% employee contribution, 1% tax relief, pensions advisor to visit the site twice a year

- Holiday Entitlement: 23 days holiday plus 8 statutory bank holidays. After completing 6-month probationary period, all employees are entitled to up to 5 days unpaid annual leave in addition to their paid allowance. This is pro-rata in the first part year, following probation.

Job Description
- Leading the day-to-day management of warehouse operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-performing processes
- Driving operational performance while maintaining exceptional standards across productivity, quality, and stock accuracy
- Developing proactive plans to support business growth, increased volumes, and new product integration
- Ensuring operational processes are completed within agreed timescales and in line with company standards
- Leading, coaching, and developing Warehouse Managers, Team Leaders, and operational teams to achieve business objectives
- Managing workforce planning to ensure resources align with operational requirements
- Creating a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture through effective leadership and communication
- Promoting a strong health and safety culture, ensuring full compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Managing warehouse audits, health and safety reporting, equipment compliance, and site standards
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and overall warehouse performance
- Managing relationships with third-party suppliers and contractors to ensure service standards are consistently achieved
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience managing a large-scale warehouse or distribution operation within an Operations or Site Manager role
- Proven experience leading large teams and driving operational performance against KPIs
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all areas of the business
- Experience working within a warehouse or distribution centre environment is essential
- Strong understanding of operational compliance, health and safety, and warehouse best practice
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar operational software would be advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive operational improvements
- Experience of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen would be beneficial
