Based in our Brighton Head Office, the Assistant Property Manager role supports the effective management of a portfolio of residential & commercial developments across Sussex. Working alongside the Property Managers, this role bridges administration and hands-on management responsibilities, potentially providing a pathway into a full Property Manager position. Oakley Property is a well-established, independent property services firm offering Property Management, Surveying and Agency services across Sussex. Property Management is a key part of our business, with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional service and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supporting the management of the company portfolio of residential and commercial properties, as well as their own smaller portfolio, including RMCs, RTM’s, Freeholders, conversions and new builds.
  • Assisting with day-to-day property management duties including maintenance coordination and contractor liaison.
  • Preparing work orders, invoices and correspondence.
  • Maintaining compliance records including Fire Safety and Health & Safety risk assessments, ensuring that actions are followed up and completed.
  • Assisting with preparation of service charge budgets and expenditure tracking.
  • Acting as a key contact for clients, leaseholders, tenants, and contractors.
  • Attending clients’ meetings and AGMs as and when necessary.
  • Supporting site inspections and taking ownership of follow-up actions.
  • Assisting with insurance renewals and claims.
  • Supporting major works and Section 20 consultation processes.
  • Providing general administrative and team support.

Your Experience

  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office 365 including Excel.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment.
  • Working towards or interest in obtaining TPI/RICS property qualification.
  • Previous property or property management experience is desirable.
