Our client is a leading building contractor based in Henley, delivering a wide range of projects including large commercial and high-end domestic new-builds, through to landmark & listed properties. They are looking for an Apprentice Trade Operative to join their growing team, having recently secured a number of new projects.
In this varied role you will be trained to oversee your own projects and daily tasks, travelling to different sites around the Thames Valley, London and the surrounding area, liaising with clients, managing and pricing jobs upon order, coordinating resources and communicating with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely project delivery, as well as overseeing labour and estimating costs for each job. This is a unique opportunity to receive first-class training and gain new skills in a specialist field. You will also have the opportunity to develop a future career pathway to become a Contracts Manager, Project Manager, Surveyor or Lead Operative in the future. The company will support you in studying towards attaining relevant industry qualifications.
What You’ll Be Doing: You’ll work alongside a tight-knit team of highly-skilled professionals installing specialist structural waterproofing systems across a wide variety of sites, with high-profile projects across the Thames Valley, including London and the surrounding counties. Every site brings something new, so you’ll need to be adaptable, proactive, and ready to roll up your sleeves.
What We’re Looking For:
- CSCS, NVQ or other Construction related qualification (or some progression towards)
- Basic understanding or skills in one of the following: Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Roofing, General Building or similar Trade
- A keen eye for quality and attention to detail
- Reliable, hard-working, and enthusiastic about learning
- Strong communication skills and good spoken English
- A full UK driving licence (essential)
- CSCS card and H&S awareness (strongly preferred)
- Must be willing to travel and undergo a DBS check
