At Oakley Food Projects, we are more than just a design-and-build partner. As a family-owned business, we work closely with food, drink, and pharmaceutical manufacturers to help them expand, relocate, and future-proof their production facilities with confidence. Since 2012, we have built a strong reputation as turnkey factory fit-out specialists, managing the entire process from initial concept and design through to build, handover, and operation.

The Senior Revit Designer plays a crucial role in the early stages of factory design and expansion projects. The role supports conceptual and technical design work, collaborates with clients and internal teams, develops pre-construction documentation, and prepares accurate, compliant design information required for tendering, pricing, and project handover.

You will work closely with the Pre-Construction, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, buildable, and aligned with client objectives. This role bridges creative design with technical feasibility.

Responsibilities:
  • Produce pre-construction technical drawings, layouts, and models to support client proposals.
  • Create detailed technical drawings for production areas, cleanrooms, warehouses, food prep spaces etc. that meet industry regulations.
  • Prepare technical schematics for power distribution, lighting, fire detection, and other facility systems in collaboration with specialist designers.
  • Develop compliant drawings aligned with building regulations.
  • Work cross-functionally with the Sales, Pre-Construction and Operations teams to ensure technical accuracy and design feasibility.
  • Prepare cost-informed designs, integrating value engineering principles to meet budget expectations.
  • Support estimating activities by providing precise drawings and design-related cost inputs.
  • Attend site visits with Sales/Pre-Construction to understand client needs and constraints.
  • Provide design updates and clarify technical details to clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Support with preparing design visuals and supporting materials for client presentations.
Attributes:
  • Strong communication skills, able to collaborate with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail with excellent accuracy in design and costing inputs.
  • Practical mindset with good commercial awareness.
Experience:
  • Proficiency with Revit/BIM software.
  • Ability to create detailed technical drawings and schematics.
  • Understanding of building regulations and construction processes.
  • Experience in pre-construction design, technical design, or architectural/engineering design for industrial or commercial buildings.
  • Background in food factory, cleanroom, or process-industry design is beneficial but not essential.
  • Prior experience in construction, technical design, or M&E coordination adds value.
What We Offer:
  • Opportunity to work with a creative and collaborative architectural design team.
  • A role that blends operational excellence with client-facing responsibility.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including profit share.
  • Professional growth and development opportunities.
  • Cooked lunches provided three times per week.
