Summary
We are seeking a Site Manager to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves overseeing the construction and fit-out of a production facility for fresh produce, that meet our high standards of quality and safety. As a Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our projects align with Oakley's mission of excellence and reliability.
This is a PAYE fixed-term contract for the duration of the project, est. 8-months.
Candidate must be able to commute to site daily in Walsall WS2 9RX.
Responsibilities
- Oversee one construction project and ensure that completed work meets the standards and quality required whilst following a project critical path and schedule requirements.
- On-site ownership of projects from acceptance of quote through to completion.
- On-site management of sub-contractors.
- Enforcing on-site Health and Safety Management, completing on-site work permits. Making sure everyone onsite is wearing PPE.
- Update the Construction Phase Plan (CPP) and Project Risk Assessment (inc. fire).
- Ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
- Reporting on project progress to senior managers and stakeholders, including photo evidence of this.
- Conducting quality and safety inspections. Be able to interpret and understand technical drawings, ensuring work is finished to the agreed standards.
- Maintaining quality control checks.
- Day to day problem solving and dealing with any issues that arise.
- Signing off completed work.
Certifications
- SMSTS (required)
- First Aid at Work (3-day) (required)
- IPAF 3a & 3b (preferred)
- Forklift Licence (preferred)
- Fire Marshall (preferred)
Competencies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently communicate with management team, sub-contractors, and clients F2F, via telephone and email.
- Able to build rapport with sub-contractors.
- Good standard of organisation and time management.
- Ability to act on own initiative and able to issue clear instructions to sub-contractors.
- Good attention to detail, ensuring work is completed and signed off against POs raised.
- Problem-solving abilities to produce creative solutions to on-site challenges
