Our client is a boutique country house hotel in the North Cotswold. It’s a beautiful location; originally a 14th century manor house now offering luxurious tranquility, relaxation, good food and space. We are looking for a pro-active, experienced Financial Accountant to manage all things financial for our stand-alone business. About the role:

This is a brand new role as we bring our hotel financial management in-house. Day to day management of all things financial, working closely with the hotel management team, and the group leadership team, this is a hands-on role with breadth and variety.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing of daily sales and receipts data into Xero Accounting
  • Timely processing of all Supplier Invoices end-to-end
  • Dealing with all supplier queries, Trade Creditors etc.
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Daily Bank Reconciliations, Petty Cash and Credit Card Management
  • Credit control and maintenance of customer ledger accounts
  • Accounting for events and weddings; deposits received, vouchers, prepayments etc.
  • Support outsourced services including payroll and VAT return preparation
  • Fixed Asset Accounting & Fixed Asset registers
  • Work closely with the hotel team to achieve month-end closure
  • Assisting with the preparation of the Month End Management Accounts
  • Assisting with preparation of budget & forecast schedules; analysis of monthly results
  • Process improvement & automation
  • Business partnering with Hotel operational teams, provide financial training as required

About you:

  • Full or Part-Qualified ideally, but qualified by experience will be considered
  • Solid understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles - Essential
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to meet strict accounting deadlines
