Interim HR Manager
13-month FTC (Maternity Cover)

Oakleaf Partnership are working with a successful Financial Services organisation going through an exciting period of growth. They are seeking an experienced Interim HR Manager to join the business on a 13-month fixed-term contract. This is a broad, hands-on leadership role, managing a team of 5, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and a strong focus on delivery during a period of ongoing change.
In this role you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day HR function, ensuring the provision of a comprehensive, responsive and commercially aligned HR service across the business.
The role
Reporting into the Head of HR, you will take ownership of the HR team and BAU delivery, whilst also playing a key role in several high-profile projects, including:
- Oversight of the implementation and employee communication of a new Benefits Portal
- Supporting the Head of HR on a new HRIS implementation, leading team readiness, resourcing and delivery
- Embedding Fitness & Propriety outputs from the SMCR programme into BAU
- Managing the rollout of changes linked to the Employment Rights Bill
Alongside project work, you will:
- Lead, manage and develop the HR team, setting clear objectives and driving performance
- Act as a senior advisor to managers on ER, change management and policy interpretation
- Oversee benefits administration and renewals
- Own the HRIS, ensuring system optimisation and team capability
- Deliver robust HR data, MI and board reporting
- Maintain strong governance, audit readiness and regulatory compliance, particularly around SMCR and Fitness & Propriety
- Provide senior oversight of employee relations cases, acting as an escalation point where required
Skills and Experience required
- Proven experience in a senior HR Manager / Interim HR leadership role within Financial Services, Professional Services or Technology ideally within an SME.
- Strong working knowledge of SMCR and regulated environments
- Demonstrable experience leading HR teams and managing complex ER matters
- Comfortable operating at pace, balancing BAU with change and project delivery
- Pragmatic, commercially minded and confident engaging with senior stakeholders
