We are partnering with a large, values-led UK organisation to appoint a Head of Organisation Development & Change. This is a pivotal leadership role at the centre of a major transformation agenda. You will lead organisation-wide OD and change activity - shaping culture, building leadership capability, and driving sustainable change at scale. The role
Reporting to the Director of Organisation Development & Change, you will lead both the OD Business Partnering and Change Management teams, ensuring strategies are evidence-based, impactful, and aligned to a significant Transformation & Change Programme. You will partner closely with senior leaders, programme teams, and external experts to deliver measurable organisational outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, and develop high-performing OD and Change teams
- Shape and deliver OD and change strategies aligned to corporate priorities
- Drive leadership development, organisational design, and culture change initiatives
- Ensure all interventions are evidence-based, high-quality, and outcome-focused
- Partner with transformation and programme teams to support delivery and benefits realisation
- Oversee business readiness across key transformation programmes
- Manage budgets, procurement, and external supplier relationships
- Provide governance, reporting, and assurance to senior leadership and committees
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing culture and performance
- Bring external insight and best practice into the organisation
About you
We are looking for a credible, forward-thinking leader with deep expertise in organisation development and change.
Essential:
- MCIPD (or equivalent)
- Recognised change/project management qualification (e.g. Prosci, APMG, ACMP)
- Extensive experience leading OD and change in complex, multi-disciplinary environments
- Strong expertise in organisational design, culture change, and leadership development
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at senior level
- Experience managing budgets, procurement, and external partners
- Data-driven, analytical approach to problem-solving and evaluation
Desirable:
- Experience within housing, public sector, or regulated environments
- Experience working within formal transformation governance structures
