Oakleaf Partnership are working with a high-performing trading organisation operating in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment. The business is going through a period of exciting growth and positive change and evolution, creating significant opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to make a meaningful impact.

This is both a strategic and hands-on HRBP role within a fast-paced SME, offering exposure across the full generalist spectrum whilst partnering closely with senior leaders. The environment is dynamic and sometimes ambiguous, so this role will suit someone who enjoys variety, pace, and being at the heart of the business.

The Role

As HR Business Partner, you will provide end-to-end HR support to your client groups, acting as a trusted advisor while also delivering operationally. This is a true generalist position where you will balance strategic input with hands-on execution.

You will be involved across the full employee lifecycle, including employee relations, performance management, talent and succession planning, learning and development, engagement initiatives, and compensation and benefits. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business priorities, translating them into pragmatic people solutions that support commercial outcomes.

Operating within a trading environment, you will need to be comfortable working at pace, managing competing priorities, and adapting your approach as the business evolves. You will contribute to people projects, process improvements, and change initiatives, using data and insight to inform decision-making and add value. Regulatory awareness will be important, ensuring policies, processes, and practices align with requirements and internal standards.

Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner within financial services.
  • Background working within an SME.
  • Strong generalist HR capability across ER, talent, L&D, and reward.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity with the ability to pivot and prioritise effectively.
  • Confident engaging in strategic conversations while remaining hands-on and delivery focused.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to align people initiatives to business objectives.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and resilient in a fast-moving environment.
