Oakleaf is pleased to be partnering with a diversified financial services platform based in central London. With an entrepreneurial and growth-focused culture, they invest to drive long‑term value creation across a portfolio of consumer and healthcare businesses, provide fund management and administration, as well as advisory services. We are seeking a commercially minded Group Head of Talent to lead the people agenda across both the core business and its portfolio. This is a high‑impact leadership role, with approximately 50% of time spent on internal people priorities and 50% partnering with portfolio companies to enhance leadership capability, organisational effectiveness, and performance. There is potential for the successful individual to work on a part‑time pro rata basis, 4 days per week. Full‑time candidates will be based in the offices 4 days per week.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Define and deliver an ongoing group‑wide people strategy
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership teams on organisational performance, leadership effectiveness, and team dynamics
- Drive a high‑performance culture, evolving performance management frameworks
- Accountable for leadership development, coaching and executive assessment initiatives
- Lead and develop the offshore People Operations function, ensuring efficient delivery of HR services
- Oversee talent acquisition and end‑to‑end people processes across the group
- Monitor and report on key people metrics including hiring, retention, engagement and cost
- Partner with portfolio businesses to support scaling, organisational design, succession planning and executive hiring
- Contribute to investment due diligence through talent assessment, and leadership evaluation
- Support strategic planning and budgeting relating to capability and talent investment
Requirements
- Experience in a senior HR role within financial services, private equity or a similarly complex environment
- Track record of partnering with leadership teams across both corporate and portfolio or multi‑entity settings
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to link talent strategy to investment outcomes and value creation
- HR Generalist background with expertise in organisational design, succession planning, and leadership development
- Strong understanding of the dynamics of high‑growth, entrepreneurial, or investment‑led environments
- Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to influence at senior levels
- Hands‑on, pragmatic, and solutions‑focused approach
- High levels of integrity, judgement, and emotional intelligence
