A leading global investment manager is seeking a highly experienced Learning & Development professional to lead the advancement of selling capabilities across its institutional and wealth distribution channels. This is a high-impact leadership role that combines strategic L&D expertise with deep sales enablement. You will be the primary driver of advanced selling skills development globally, while also serving as the L&D Lead for Global Institutional Sales across EMEA and APAC.
About the Role
You will design, deliver, and continuously improve best-in-class learning programmes that move sales professionals beyond foundational skills into sophisticated, consultative, and strategic client engagement. Your work will directly support revenue growth by elevating the capabilities of sales teams working with institutional, global wealth, and insurance clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an enterprise-wide strategy for advanced selling skills, consultative selling, solution-based approaches, and strategic relationship management across Global Institutional, US Wealth, and Global Wealth channels.
- Conduct learning needs analyses, design comprehensive development journeys, and create measurement frameworks to demonstrate business impact.
- Facilitate high-impact workshops, coach senior sales professionals and leaders, and drive measurable behavioural change.
- Own the end-to-end learning strategy for Institutional sales teams in EMEA and APAC (with support to Americas).
- Accelerate product knowledge, competitive intelligence, regulatory understanding, and platform proficiency.
- Design and deliver content for new hire programmes and ongoing development.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, and senior sales leaders across regions.
- Leverage AI and modern learning technologies, manage external vendors, and travel periodically (approximately 10%, including annual visits to the US).
Requirements
- Strong background in Financial Services / Investment Management.
- Proven Learning & Development experience, ideally with a focus on sales enablement, instructional design, or sales effectiveness.
- Excellent facilitation and training delivery skills - confident presenting to large audiences (100+).
- Sales or sales leadership experience (highly advantageous).
- Strong project management, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Comfort working in a global role with meetings outside standard UK hours.
- Self-starter with high energy and excellent time management.
- Ability to build strong relationships across different cultures and time zones.
- Passion for driving measurable performance improvement through learning.
