We are partnering with a growing, multi-entity business to appoint an experienced senior finance leader on a 6-month contract. This is a hands-on leadership role, taking full ownership of the group finance function while working closely with the CEO and senior stakeholders to support business objectives. This role would suit an established Head of Finance / Finance Director or a highly experienced Financial Controller who has led a full finance function within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of the group finance function across multiple entities
- Lead, manage and develop the finance team, covering transactional and reporting activities
- Act as a trusted business partner to the CEO and senior leadership team
- Ensure accurate and timely internal financial reporting
- Prepare statutory accounts and manage year-end processes for all group entities
- Lead external audit processes and manage relationships with auditors
- Ensure strong financial controls, policies and systems are in place
- Oversee transactional finance including sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, cash posting and general ledger
- Manage direct and indirect tax obligations across the group
- Own cash forecasting, working capital management and stock planning
- Lead the annual budgeting process
- Drive continuous improvement across finance systems and processes
- Ensure appropriate insurance coverage across business risks
- Support wider business needs through ad-hoc financial projects
Skills & Experience Required
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience leading and developing a finance function
- Strong group accounting and multi-entity experience
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Hands‑on approach with strong attention to detail
- Confident senior stakeholder engagement and business partnering capability
- Passion for systems, controls and process improvement
- Ability to work to tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- Must have Business Central software experience
