Oakleaf Partnership are working with an established and professional services firm, with a very friendly culture, who are looking to strengthen their payroll function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional with practice, bureau or outsourced payroll experience who enjoys managing a varied client portfolio and providing both payroll processing and advisory support.

The Role

  • You will support the wider payroll team in delivering a high-quality payroll service to a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Working closely with senior payroll professionals, you will provide payroll expertise, resolve complex queries and support clients with a range of payroll requirements.
  • The role offers flexibility around working days and hours and can be performed either remotely or from their London office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex payroll queries and provide expert advice to a portfolio of clients
  • Deliver a high level of client service, supporting urgent payroll, legislative and technical queries
  • Process client payrolls across mainly monthly payroll cycles, with exposure to a variety of client requirements
  • Support client onboarding, including pension setup and payroll changes
  • Advise on payroll processes, legislation and best practice
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve issues and continuously improve service delivery

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong UK payroll knowledge and experience managing payroll processes end-to-end
  • Experience working within an accountancy practice, payroll bureau or professional services environment, with exposure to managing payroll for multiple clients
  • Confidence working across a varied client portfolio, understanding that each organisation may have different payroll requirements and levels of complexity
  • Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to provide payroll advice and resolve technical queries effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on payroll accuracy and compliance
  • The ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities across multiple payroll cycles
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the confidence to work closely with clients and internal stakeholders
  • CIPP qualification (desirable, not essential)
