We are looking for friendly, caring and enthusiastic people to join our team of Support Workers in Sherburn, County Durham. Oaklea’s Supported Living Project in Sherburn provides care and support to people with learning disabilities. In your role, you will support customers with a wide variety of needs and aspirations and work with our organisational values as we strive to encourage independence.
You will be required to support male and female adults in their home who require support with personal care, meal preparation, accessing their local community and support with hobbies and appointments. Therefore, the applicant must be able to drive and have a clean licence.
Come and join a team on a new adventure of supported living with people of differing abilities and complex health needs, who love being active and are looking for new ways to be involved in their community and have fun. You will be required to work closely with a small team. You must be confident in communicating with people who may have challenges communicating with you. Working hours will include days, nights and weekends – examples of support sessions are: (8am – 10.00pm/ 8.00am-3.00pm/ 3.00pm – 10.00pm/ 9.30pm – 8.00am)
You do not need to be experienced, but it is essential that you share our values. You must have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of people with a learning disability. We will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
