Oaklands is an outstanding special school serving the London Borough of Hounslow that provides specialist education to students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties and autism aged 4-19. We have a Primary school (New Oaks) and a Secondary school (High Oaks). We are based across two sites with state-of-the-art facilities for our students.

We are looking to appoint a qualified band 5 or band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a growing therapy team and work directly with young people to support them accessing education. The ideal candidate will have 2 years' experience working with young people who have very complex needs including PMLD, SLD and autism. You will be able to design and deliver sensory integration programmes and liaise with service providers and parents to ensure that therapy is delivered as required at school and home.

Responsibilities:
  • Join the Oaklands school Therapy Team, working across both sites.
  • Design and deliver sensory integration programmes for students with complex needs.
  • Liaise with service providers and parents to ensure therapy is delivered as required at school and home.
  • Support young people to access education and achieve the best functional outcomes within the school community.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Qualified Occupational Therapist at Band 5 or Band 6 level.
  • 2 years' experience working with young people with very complex needs including PMLD, SLD and autism.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues, other services and families; commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.
