Job Title

Lunchtime Classroom Assistant – High Oaks Secondary (Part Time)

Location

High Oaks Secondary School, Gresham Road, Hounslow, London Borough of Hounslow.

Overview

Oaklands is an outstanding special school serving the London Borough of Hounslow that provides specialist education to students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties and autism. We have a Primary school (New Oaks) and a Secondary school (High Oaks) across two separate sites with state‑of‑the‑art facilities. We are looking for enthusiastic Lunchtime Classroom Assistant staff to support students with autism and complex needs at our secondary school.

Responsibilities

• Maintain calm and patient behaviour around students at lunch.
• Provide personal care support, including toileting and feeding, as required.
• Assist with classroom tasks and lunchtime routines.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Good team working skills and a passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
• Physically fit and able to undertake all aspects of personal care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Applicants must pass a satisfactory fully enhanced DBS check and have references. Social media checks will be carried out on shortlisted candidates. All positions are subject to a 26‑week probation period.

Contract Details

Contract Type: Permanent, term‑time only (38 weeks)

Hours of work: 8 hours per week
11:50am – 13:50pm Monday
11:50am – 13:20pm Tuesday to Friday.

Pay Scale: Hounslow Scale 4 point 7 – £5,641 per annum.
