Oaklands Health Centre are looking for a friendly receptionist. We are looking for somebody who is passionate about customer care and providing patients with a positive experience whenever they contact the practice. We currently have a full time position available for 37.5 hours per week. Applicants need to be available to work anytime between our core hours of 8am and 6.30pm and be able to cover when needed our extended hours of 8pm or Saturday mornings.
Main duties of the job
- Dealing with enquires from patients at the reception desk.
- Dealing with enquires from patients on the telephone, including making appointments.
- Effectively signposting patients to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- General administration duties, i.e handling incoming and outgoing correspondence from hospitals and other healthcare providers.

Oaklands Health Centre is a forward thinking practice within the Holme Valley with around 11,000 patients. We are a training practice for Nurses and Medical Students. We are very patient focused and always looking for new ways to help our patients by introducing new services to the practice. The practice is CQC rated outstanding.
Job responsibilities
Process and effectively signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional depending on the presenting condition.
Answer incoming phone calls from patients requesting appointments or general enquiries.
Cover front desk reception and assist with patients who require an appointment or help with any queries.
Provide excellent customer service at all times.
Respect patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
Support vulnerable patients and those requiring additional assistance.
Deal sensitively with distressed or anxious patients.
Promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required.
Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary.
Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.
Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota.
Support administrative staff by providing cover during staff absences.
Scan patient-related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare records.
Assist with any ad-hoc projects as and when required to do so.

Qualifications
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
Experience
- Experience of working in customer service.
- Experience of working in primary care.
- Full mandatory training will be given.
