Oaklands Global are currently recruiting a Technical Services Engineer on behalf of one of our leading aviation clients based in Southeast England.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take on a pivotal role, overseeing quotations, developing detailed work packs, providing maintenance support, managing key administrative responsibilities, and contributing to the successful planning and execution of strategic projects.
The position will also involve customer-facing elements, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Report directly to, and deputise for, the Head of Technical Services.
- Ensure the timely generation of customer quotations.
- Oversee the creation and readiness of work packs (WOs) ahead of aircraft maintenance input.
- Raise preload demands to the Stores team in a timely manner.
- Manage the administrative closure of work packs and ensure prompt return to the customer.
- Lead strategic and efficiency-driven projects as required.
- Support maintenance planning activities, identifying key milestones and critical paths.
- Provide technical support to the maintenance team and act as the primary liaison with OEM technical teams.
- Promote warranty programmes and liaise with OEMs to ensure customer requirements are fully met.
- Ensure accurate recording, documentation and filing of all maintenance records.
- Maintain accurate reporting of maintenance activity within the tracking system (CAMP).
- Support the customer service interface in collaboration with the Commercial Department.
- Uphold professional presentation standards in line with company and customer expectations.
- Adhere to company EH&S policies and promote a strong safety culture.
- Deliver strategic initiatives as defined by the Head of Technical Services.
- Conduct continuous improvement and root cause investigations to reduce quality escapes and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Attend meetings as required and undertake any reasonable duties requested by senior management.
Requirements
- Proven experience within a Part-M and/or Part-145 organisation.
- Experience communicating directly with customers, including HNWIs.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
- Highly methodical, organised and detail-oriented approach.
- Strong understanding of customer expectations within an aviation environment.
- Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance tracking and planning systems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to drive performance and deliver results.
- Natural planner with a strong focus on safety and quality.
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing workloads and operational demands.
- Thorough knowledge of Part-M, Part-145 and Company MOE requirements.
- Advanced understanding of continuous improvement principles.
- Knowledge of EH&S practices, leadership techniques and human performance.
- Understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS), Just Culture and occurrence reporting requirements.
- Strong awareness of professional integrity and safety responsibilities.
- Clear understanding of continuing airworthiness requirements.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage critical activities and report discrepancies effectively.
- Competence in compiling, controlling and reviewing completed work cards.
- Ability to interpret work orders, work cards and apply relevant maintenance data accurately.
