Oaklands Global are currently recruiting Avionics Design Engineers on behalf of a leading global aviation client that provides aircraft engineering, maintenance, and technical support to airlines, lessors, and private operators. These are full-time, permanent roles, based in either the UK or Belfast.

We are seeking skilled engineers to manage the design and review of aircraft modifications and repairs in line with EASA Part 21 regulations, within the scope of the client’s approved Design Organisation. The role involves delivering high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective solutions across avionics, structures, and cabin safety disciplines, ensuring both customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

  • Assist with the preparation and development of design solutions and associated documentation.
  • Initial review and check of designs and changes for regulatory compliance.
  • Liaison with customers, suppliers and OEMs, to include onsite visits for aircraft inspection and design validation as required.
  • Liaison with production and maintenance organisations depending on the project scope.
  • Positively engage in all design activities and engineering meetings.

Strong understanding of EASA/FAA regulations which include Part 21 & EASA design standards.

  • Current Aeronautical Engineering/Engineering Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an EASA Part 21J environment (or similar design engineering role).
  • Solid working experience of AutoCAD (or other design software) and MS Office.
  • Creative and innovative with respect to the engineering solutions required.
  • Exhibit a high level of personal integrity, thereby maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality under commercial pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple projects/customers at any one time.
  • Ability to work autonomously and lead projects.
