Oaklands Global are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on the design and integration of complex electrical systems across advanced engineering platforms.
This is a systems-level engineering role focused on ensuring electrical subsystems operate as one fully integrated solution. You'll be responsible for the design, integration and validation of electrical architectures, working across multidisciplinary teams to ensure electrical systems are safe, compliant and fully functional throughout the product lifecycle.
This is not a PCB or electronic circuit design position. We're looking for engineers with experience integrating complete electrical systems, producing wiring documentation and supporting system-level verification and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review electrical wiring diagrams, interconnection schematics and system layouts.
- Define and maintain system-level electrical architectures and integration strategies.
- Integrate electrical subsystems including power distribution, signal routing and data communication interfaces.
- Produce high-quality engineering documentation supporting electrical integration activities.
- Work collaboratively with Mechanical, Structural, Avionics and Systems Engineering teams throughout the design lifecycle.
- Identify, investigate and resolve electrical integration issues across complex engineering platforms.
- Translate system requirements into practical electrical integration solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input into system architecture decisions.
- Support electrical system testing, validation, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
- Maintain configuration control and design assurance documentation in accordance with engineering processes.
Requirements
- Strong experience in electrical system design and integration (not PCB or component design).
- Ability to produce and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Experience working at system level across complex engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical system architecture (power, signals, interfaces).
- Experience integrating multiple electrical subsystems into a unified system.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a systems-thinking approach.
- Experience in structured engineering environments with documentation standards.
- Background in one or more of the following industries: Aerospace, Automotive / EV, Rail, Defence, Other complex engineered systems industries
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
