Oaklands Global are currently looking to recruit a skilled Air Traffic Engineer (ATE) to join a busy regional airport client, supporting the maintenance and reliability of critical ATC communications and navigation systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aviation infrastructure.
The Role
As an Air Traffic Engineer, you will be responsible for the planned and corrective maintenance of ATC equipment in line with your competency ratings, relevant CAA regulations, and established engineering procedures. You will contribute to maintaining high operational availability and safety standards across all air traffic systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, service, and repair air traffic control systems, aeronautical ground systems, and navaids.
- Monitor the operational status of safety-critical equipment.
- Carry out unscheduled maintenance and fault diagnosis/rectification within defined competency ratings.
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure all maintenance documentation, including logbooks and records, is completed accurately.
- Maintain currency and competency requirements for all systems and equipment ratings held.
- Undertake engineering tasks as directed by the Senior Air Traffic Control Engineer (SATE).
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety at Work regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an Air Traffic Engineer (ATE) or within a similar ATC engineering environment.
- Hold, or be working towards, relevant ATSEP qualifications.
- Experience maintaining systems such as ILS, NDB, DME, recorders, and communications systems.
- Good understanding of CAA aviation regulatory and safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication ability.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
