This is a genuinely broad in-house tax role, not a compliance treadmill. You'd be joining the tax team of a growing, multi-site international group with UK and Australian operations, working across corporate tax, VAT/GST and employment tax β plus real involvement in M&A due diligence, RDEC claims and international tax matters like transfer pricing and Country-by-Country reporting.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting group corporation tax returns across multiple entities, working both in-house and alongside external advisers.
- Preparing capital allowances claims, quarterly instalment calculations, group relief and Group Payment Arrangement allocations, plus VAT/GST returns and EC Sales returns for both jurisdictions.
- Engaging in employment tax exposure, tax data analysis, reconciliations, and maintaining the models and trackers the team relies on.
- Supporting the Tax Manager and Head of Tax on projects β M&A due diligence review, legislation impact analysis, dealing directly with the tax authorities and auditors, and acting as the go-to for tax queries across the business.
What they need from you:
- Part CTA or ATT qualified (or equivalent), with previous experience in corporate tax and/or VAT.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with large datasets are essential, alongside sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
