We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated apprentice to join our friendly Grounds & Gardens team here at Oakham School. This is your chance to learn from experienced professionals, get hands-on with real equipment and play a genuine role in maintaining high level sports facilities — from cricket wickets to football pitches and everything in between.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Preparing and maintaining stunning sports pitches and playing surfaces
  • Learning the craft of cricket wicket preparation
  • Marking out and setting up pitches for matches and events
  • Operating professional grounds machinery and equipment
  • Applying fertilisers and plant protection products
  • Carrying out seasonal renovations to keep our facilities looking their best
