We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Oakfield Veterinary Surgery in Tamworth on a full-time, fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
Oakfield Veterinary Surgery is a long-standing practice with a loyal client base and a fantastic team.

Your base practice will be Oakfield Vets in Tamworth, with some work also required at our Atherstone and Castle Bromwich branches.

- Team includes 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 15 nurses, 1 VCA, 4 receptionists, a Client Coordinator, Mental Health First Aider, Canine Behaviourists, certificate holders and an Advanced Practitioner
- Well-equipped facilities including digital radiography, dental radiography, laser and ultrasound with cardiac probe

- How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
- Working Pattern
- 38.33 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, working 8-hour shifts with a 20-minute unpaid break -Example shifts include 8:00am to 4:00pm, 9:00am to 5:00pm, 10:00am to 6:00pm and 11:00am to 7:00pm
- 1 in 5 Saturday rota between 8:30am and 4:30pm
- Closed Sundays and bank holidays
- General Responsibilities
- Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
- Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
- Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
- Assist with diagnostics, including digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound and laboratory work
