We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Oakfield Veterinary Surgery in Tamworth on a full-time, fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

Oakfield Veterinary Surgery is a long-standing practice with a loyal client base and a fantastic team.

We are constantly looking to improve and strive to offer our patients the best care we can, with a strong focus on clinical standards, teamwork and patient wellbeing.

Your base practice will be Oakfield Vets in Tamworth, with some work also required at our Atherstone and Castle Bromwich branches.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

  • Working Pattern
  • 38.33 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, working 8-hour shifts with a 20-minute unpaid break -Example shifts include 8:00am to 4:00pm, 9:00am to 5:00pm, 10:00am to 6:00pm and 11:00am to 7:00pm
  • 1 in 5 Saturday rota between 8:30am and 4:30pm
  • Closed Sundays and bank holidays
  • General Responsibilities
  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
  • Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
  • Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
  • Assist with diagnostics, including digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound and laboratory work
