Oakfield Park School - Rated “Outstanding” is seeking to appoint enthusiastic and dedicated full-time Teaching Assistants to join our expanding outstanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties including students with autism and behaviours of concern in a highly nurturing and forward-thinking educational environment.
Essential Criteria:
- Committed to providing the best possible educational opportunities for children with severe and complex learning difficulties.
- Enthusiastic and motivated to work alongside teachers to deliver and support learning programmes tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Supportive of the school’s values and ethos, and eager to contribute to our whole‑school approach.
- Committed to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Willing to undertake necessary medical training (e.g. first aid, administering medication, tracheostomy suctioning, enteral feeding, administering oxygen, ventilation).
- Open to training related to Autism, behaviours that challenge (Team Teach), and other complex needs.
- Confident, self‑motivated, and capable of working independently and using initiative to ensure positive outcomes for students.
- Committed to continuous professional development and self‑evaluation.
- Flexible and able to work across a variety of school settings as needed.
- Experienced in working with pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
Desirable (Training can be provided):
- Relevant qualifications: Team Teach, Moving and Handling, First Aid at Work, MIDAS (minibus driving).
- Experience using a recognised form of sign language (e.g., Makaton, BSL).
