We are looking for an organised and proactive Workshop Controller/Mechanic/ MOT tester to oversee the daily operations of our busy workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating workflow, managing technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and maintaining efficiency across all workshop activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, technical understanding, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Allocate work efficiently to technicians and monitor progress throughout the day
  • Ensure workshop jobs are completed on time and to a high standard
  • Manage workshop productivity and maximise utilisation
  • Liaise with service advisors, parts departments, and customers where required
  • Monitor repair quality and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • Support technicians with technical guidance and problem-solving
  • Ensure accurate completion of job cards and workshop documentation
  • Maintain strong communication across departments to ensure smooth operations

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Workshop Controller or senior workshop role
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Good technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure
  • Experience using workshop management systems is desirable
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
