Oakbank Waste Management Ltd are currently looking for a HGV Mechanic to be responsible for the mechanical and electrical repair, preventative maintenance and modification of our artic fleet and vehicles. Reporting to the Workshop Manager and based at our busy workshop in Dumfries.
Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative maintenance in accordance with our policies and procedures
- Maintenance & Repair of scheduled R&M events including MOT preparation and breakdowns to HGV/LCV Vehicles
- Diagnostic fault finding & repair defects on all vehicles, replacing parts as and when necessary in line with Company and legislative requirements
- Competent in the understanding and usage of diagnostic software equipment
- Adopt a safe method of working
- Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation to the required standard
- Reduce non-scheduled work and vehicle visits to the location between Preventative Maintenance
Requirements
- Time served HGV/LCV Mechanic
- Experience in a similar role
- Driving licence essential - class 1 preferred
- Good communicator
- Ability to work alone or part of workshop team
Salary and Location
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Hourly rate will be depending on experience plus overtime at time and half.
Pay: £29,860.91-£47,574.08 per year
Work Location: In person
