Role Purpose
The Sales & Events Executive is an entry-level position within our sales team, focusing on converting inbound event enquiries into confirmed bookings, most of which come directly through the museum’s internal team. In addition to sales conversion, the planning stages form a significant part of this role, particularly as London Museum Docklands is a high-volume venue for daytime conferences and meetings. The position requires someone who is highly organised, detail-focused, and energised by a fast-paced events environment, ensuring every booking is handled smoothly from initial enquiry through to handover to the operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to new enquiries, qualifying leads and managing client communications.
- Prepare accurate proposals, quotations, and contracts, ensuring timely follow-ups to secure bookings.
- Conduct venue show-arounds and meetings with prospective clients as required, presenting venue offerings and tailoring options to their needs.
- Support the handover process to operations and culinary teams, utilising the CRM system to provide all relevant event details for seamless delivery.
- Attend client planning meetings as required to provide proactive guidance on event flow and offerings.
- Be present on the event day for meet & greet and facilitate a smooth handover to the Operations Manager.
Experience & Skills
- Some experience in venue, events or hospitality sales is desired.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and client-facing skills.
- Enthusiastic.
