What We Are Looking For

Child Development Programs is administered by Oak Valley Health (OVH). This position will include providing school based rehabilitation services for children in kindergarten through a partnership with the Children’s Treatment Network.

Responsibilities

  • Providing therapy to kindergarten-aged children in the areas of articulation, motor speech, stuttering and voice who are eligible to receive school-based rehabilitation services, funded through the Children’s Treatment Network.
  • Carrying a caseload under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Documenting in the Children Treatment Network’s shared client record.
  • Providing occasional evening virtual workshops to parents and caregivers in the areas of articulation, motor speech, and stuttering.
  • Services are primarily provided within schools throughout York Region during the school year, but also provided in a clinic setting or to the family virtually during the summer months.
  • Engaging in regular communication with parents and caregivers to provide home programming to the family.
  • Taking an active role in performing and maintaining professional practice standards, guidelines and activities.

What You Bring To The Role

  • Communicative Disorders Assistant Diploma.
  • Previous experience working with children providing school-based rehabilitation services is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to offer services in more than one language is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this standard.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.

Work Schedule

The successful candidate will be available to work Monday to Friday, during regular business hours with occasional evening work. Location: Northern area of York Region. Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.

Compensation

YRSLP03: $33.20 - $39.66 per hour.
