Breaktimes Support Assistants form an important part of our staffteam, enhancingthe lunchtime experience for our students to ensure that the social developmentof all is promoted, alongside a positive attitude to a healthy lifestyle.
Weare looking for individuals with some of the following skills, knowledge andexperience:
- Ability to supervise students during playtime, both indoor and outdoor
- Abilityto engage with students and promote their social development and self esteem
- Abilityto supervise students 1:1 at breaktime and lunchtime
- Abilityto work in a classroom to release staff for their breaks
- Experience in supporting students giving careful attention to safety andwell-being and actively encouraging play
- Understandingof behaviour issues and strategies to manage them
- Capacityto work flexibly across range of student settings
- Effectiveteam working
- Fluencyin English
- Abilityto work with staff to support with Manual Handling issues
A programme of support and training willbe offered. Attendanceon some training days would be required.Prior experience with students with complex learning needs ispreferred but not essential as a programme of support and training will beoffered.
