UK Visual Merchandising Manager
ROLE PURPOSE
Our UK Visual Merchandising Manager will ensure the brand DNA is rolled out consistently across the full estate. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting into the Retail and Property Director and working alongside the Creative Visual Merchandising Manager
- Responsible for recruiting, managing and developing a high calibre, nationwide field team of Visual Merchandisers and Display Assistants
- Lead the operational VM strategy and execution across all UK retail stores in alignment with overall brand vision, business objectives and commercial goals
- Ensure new product launches are executed in line with VM strategy
- Ensure the field teams are executing VM display principles in stores nationwide
- Manage visual consistency across the estate through a hands-on approach
- Ensuring the field team are supported within their divisions with regular nationwide travel, inspiring and motivating the team
- Continuously identify operational challenges and areas for improvement, proactively developing and embedding solutions that enhance efficiency, collaboration and overall ways of working across teams
- Taking a lead from the Creative VM Manager to help define rollout schedules for the field VM team
- Ensure the field team are adhering to the VM communications
- Responsible for design and delivery of VM training and guidance on best practices and VM principles ensuring the team are executing the creative vision
- Ensure digital floor plans are accurate and always kept up to date. These should be a true reflection of showroom layout
- Supporting on New Store Openings and Refits, a real brand advocate who rolls their sleeves up alongside VM colleagues to ensure the store is the best in the estate and in a timely manor
- Manage the Visual Merchandising budget effectively, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost saving where possible
- Ensure effective communication at all levels, regular engagement around the overall business
- Ensure team compliance with all Health & Safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety and accountability through regular training and upskilling
- Keeping the team abreast of company strategies and understand their roles to deliver this
- Identify training needs to build and retain a high calibre team, ensuring they are kept up to date with all required training
- Set and review key objectives, monitoring performance and progress of individuals
- Build strong relationships with store managers and Divisional Sales Managers
- Supporting the senior leadership team with project work when required
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a senior Visual Merchandising manager, managing a field-based team
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, collaborative and engaging with the ability to build successful relationships with others at all levels of the business
- Continually focused on supporting individuals in achieving their goals and targets
- Not willing to compromise on quality and therefore sets clear expectations and monitors performance of team
- Ability to work using own initiative
- Creatively minded, highly organised and with an analytical approach to problem solving with a strong can-do attitude
- Is proactive in planning to achieve objectives which deliver profitable outcomes
- Demonstratable visual skills with a strong VM portfolio
- Excellent leader and proven record of managing a field-based team
- Creative and innovative thinker
- Willingness to travel nationwide on a regular basis, overnight stays each week are a must
