We’re looking for an experienced Social Media Manager to lead the organic social strategy for Oak Furnitureland and help shape how customers connect with our brand every day. Reporting to the Head of CRM, Loyalty & Communications, you’ll take ownership of our organic social media presence — driving brand awareness, strengthening community engagement, and increasing organic discoverability across all key platforms.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on turning insights into action, spotting emerging trends, and creating content that people genuinely want to engage with. You’ll sit in the CRM, Loyalty & Communications team but will work closely with all areas of the business (Customer Service, eCommerce, Paid Social, Design, Product, and Retail to name but a few) so you’ll need to be able to work collaboratively - we’re all one team, working together to showcase the very best of the Oak Furnitureland brand.
Based at our Head Office in Swindon, this role offers hybrid working, with two days in the office and three days from home.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive organic social media strategy across all relevant platforms (e.g., Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, and YouTube).
- Work closely with the Paid Social team to ensure that the social strategy is aligned across paid and organic channels.
- Work with the media team to develop and execute a 'Social SEO' strategy, optimising video captions, alt-text, and profiles to ensure brand discoverability within platform search algorithms.
- Work with customer services and PR functional specialists as required to ensure delivery of key messages as required by the business.
- Weekly & monthly measures - review organic social performance weekly and monthly against set KPIs and make recommendations for improvement and adaptations.
- Lead the integration of Generative AI tools (e.g., Google Gemini) for brainstorming, content scaling, and workflow optimisation, while maintaining brand voice and ethical standards.
- Drive community growth to drive brand awareness, by creating engaging content, tailored to each channel, that delivers key messages and improves consideration of the brand.
- Take an active role in quarterly content planning meetings with key internal teams, ensuring activity is aligned with other channels, including our broader event campaigns, and new product launches.
- Creating our brand tone of voice and content for TikTok, working closely with the wider media team on the TikTok strategy.
- Identify and manage influencer relationships to help create loyal brand advocates and support key campaign and product launches internally, ensuring content is suitable for both organic and paid channels.
- Regularly review UGC content to ensure it aligns with the Oak Furnitureland brand values.
- Develop and manage relationships with like-minded brands to create scroll-stopping content.
- Previous experience in a social media role with experience managing a variety of social platforms e.g. Facebook, X, Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok. Experience with organic content on YouTube would be an advantage.
- Experience in content creation is essential, with a flare for coming up with creative ideas to ensure Oak Furnitureland stands out in people’s feeds.
- A passion for video and photography would be beneficial, as content creation will be a key part of your role.
- A track record of setting up and optimising social media campaigns organically.
- Strong communications skills and the ability to engage with people at all levels.
- Good analytical skills and the ability to review social media analytics, metrics, and reporting to drive decisions.
- Track record of managing budgets, and performance reporting.
- Experience of curating and managing influencer & content creators, with proven results.
- Experience of curating UGC content and delivering to brand standards.
- A high standard of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Solid understanding of the role of paid social and how paid and organic work together.
- A keen interest in AI, and the role it can play in driving efficiencies without impacting quality of work - experience in this area would be an advantage, though not essential.
- Comfortable presenting information, including to senior stakeholders.
- Experience with GA4 and Google Workspace, alongside an understanding of GEO and SEO is desirable.
- Employee discount: amazing discounts available on all Oak Furnitureland products after successful completion of probation.
- Life assurance: free cover of a minimum of two times your annual salary up to the age of 65.
- 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays.
- Birthday: an additional day off for you to celebrate your birthday.
