The Operational Human Resources Business Partner embeds professional practices to support the business in achieving its purpose, delivering its values and meeting operational and commercial requirements. This is achieved through proactive and professional HR advice, which promotes best practice, drives HR strategy, safeguards against litigation, and shapes the culture of the business.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Champion Oak Furnitureland culture, values and behaviours ensuring that they are reflected and threaded through all ways of working, working practices and relationships.
- Provide expert consistent HR advice and guidance to managers and colleagues on HR matters, encouraging continual development on all areas of HR.
- Partner with managers to resolve ER issues through proactive and appropriate case management, that increases competence and commitment (motivation / confidence).
- Work with line managers and colleagues to develop their confidence and credibility when understanding and applying HR policy and procedure.
- Take ownership of exploring and embedding HR solutions with stakeholders.
- Support the employee lifecycle by proactively looking for ways to improve employee and manager experience.
- Follow and contribute to shape the formation of internal policy and procedures to comply with and/or support legislation and/or good employment practices.
- Support the roll out of HR projects and organisational change programmes supporting delivery of the HR strategy.
- Support and enable employee engagement across business areas.
- Work with the key stakeholders as an effective and collaborative Business Partner to support with people plans.
- Maintain emphasis on own personal development, specifically focusing on HR knowledge (internally/externally), the furniture industry, and Oak Furnitureland’s products and services.
- Ensure working hours are managed effectively to ensure productivity and value-add to the HR Team and our stakeholders.
- Attend regular review and team meetings as required.

- Have a good UK employment law knowledge and how to apply it.
- CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above) or relevant demonstrable experience.
