ABOUT THE PROJECT/ROLE
You’ll join a diverse, multi-skilled engineering team in the UK, working on aviation reference data that powers OAG’s core products. We operate with a T-shaped engineering mindset — deep expertise in your craft, with the flexibility to collaborate across disciplines when needed.
This is a hands-on SDET role where you’ll take ownership of test strategy, frameworks, tooling, and data validation. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and integrity of large-scale data pipelines and cloud-based systems.
WHAT YOU\\\’LL DO
- Design, build, and maintain automated and manual testing frameworks across data pipelines and product surfaces
- Own end-to-end test strategy, covering data validation, APIs, and user-facing workflows
- Create and maintain API tests to validate service integrations and data contracts
- Build UI and end-to-end automated tests to ensure product workflows function correctly from data ingestion through to user experience
- Design and execute performance and reliability testing to ensure systems scale under load
- Validate and verify complex datasets, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and correctness across environments
- Test ETL processes and data transformations end-to-end
- Embed quality gates into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated tests run early and often
- Work closely with developers to review code and champion testability and quality
- Proactively identify gaps in coverage and improve tooling, frameworks, and processes
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
Essential
- Strong experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks
- Proficiency in C# (or strong experience in Java or TypeScript)
- Experience with API testing and service-level validation
- Experience building UI and end-to-end automated tests for web applications
- Strong SQL skills with experience validating complex datasets
- Experience testing data pipelines and ETL workflows
- Experience with performance and non-functional testing
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery practices
Nice to Have
- Experience with Snowflake
- Experience with Playwright
- Experience with JMeter
- Exposure to ETL processes
- Big Data experience (e.g. Databricks, BigQuery)
- Experience testing cloud-native systems (Azure preferred)
