About the Role
We’re looking for a People & Culture Operations Specialist to keep the engine running smoothly across our global employee experience. This is a fixed‑term contract role based in Luton, sitting within the broader P & C team and reporting to the Director of Reward & People Operations. You’ll be the go‑to person for employees and managers across eight global locations, handling everything from payroll and onboarding to HR systems and compliance. Success in this role means employees get accurate, timely answers, our data is trusted, our processes are consistent, and our people feel supported from day one to their last.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own end‑to‑end payroll administration for UK and European locations, acting as the primary point of contact with payroll providers to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant monthly processing.
- Be the first point of contact for employee and manager queries across eight global locations, providing fast, accurate, and genuinely helpful responses.
- Lead the on‑ and offboarding process end‑to‑end, including inductions, work permit coordination, and ensuring a smooth experience for every new joiner and leaver.
- Keep our HR data clean and current across all people systems, so that decisions and reporting can always be trusted.
- Coordinate employee benefit plans across multiple countries, acting as the liaison with providers and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Champion self‑serve by maintaining high quality, up‑to‑date P & C content on BambooHR and SharePoint, so employees can find what they need without always having to ask.
- Build and maintain process documentation that enables consistent, global operational delivery across all OAG locations.
- Drive improvements to HR processes and employee experience by spotting friction points and implementing practical, people‑first solutions.
- Support P & C projects and initiatives, and contribute to a positive, inclusive office environment across all OAG sites.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in an HR operations, HR coordinator, or HR administrator role, with solid hands‑on knowledge across core people processes.
- Ability to manage payroll administration accurately and confidently, ideally across more than one country or payroll provider.
- Strong understanding of HR compliance requirements and employment law basics, with a mindset that keeps practices audit‑ready.
- Comfortable working with HR systems and people data, with a natural instinct for accuracy and data quality.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain policies and processes clearly to employees at any level, without jargon.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities and switch between tasks with ease, staying organised and detail‑oriented under pressure.
- A proactive, self‑starting approach, someone who spots a broken process and fixes it, without waiting to be asked.
If You Have The Following That Would Be Great
- Experience working across multiple countries or jurisdictions, with an understanding of how employment and compliance requirements differ by region.
- Familiarity with BambooHR or similar HRIS platforms.
- Experience supporting employee relocation or work permit processes.
We Will Offer You
- A progressive, non‑hierarchical culture where innovation drives everything we build.
- Flexible working arrangements that allow remote work or office attendance.
- An attractive compensation and benefits package, including access to a Simplyhealth cash plan to support your everyday health and wellbeing, a company bonus scheme, Octopus EV salary sacrifice scheme and enhanced pension scheme.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, volunteering days and additional day off during your birthday month.
- Inclusive family benefits designed to support you through parenthood and fertility journeys.
- Work remotely anywhere in the world for up to 1 month per year.
- Annual learning and development budget.
