We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join us as a Mechanic within our refuse and recycling team. As part of the Refuse and Recycling team, we are responsible for providing an excellent service to our residents, collecting domestic household waste and recycling, bulky waste items and garden waste.
We are based in Oadby and this part of Leicestershire is a great place to live, work and visit. The role will be Monday – Friday, 07.30 am – 15.30 pm. There may be occasions when flexibility in these hours will be required. You will undertake responsibilities including carrying out repairs, maintenance and inspections on all council vehicles and plant/equipment following relevant legislation. You will also assist the senior mechanic with planning vehicle and plant records, assisting with budgets, maintaining the workshop to a clean and safe standard, and driving council vehicles when necessary.
