What you will be doing

The General Manager will lead by creating a high performing, collaborative business that delivers outstanding customer service through operational excellence, engaged people and strong commercial awareness. Working closely with Sales, Production and the wider Oadby Group you will drive sustainable growth by improving efficiency, reducing lead times, developing people and building lasting customer relationships. Your day to day responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop the Sales and Production teams to deliver sustainable business growth.
  • Develop and implement business improvement initiatives that increase productivity, improve workflow and reduce lead times.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through better processes, resource planning and automation.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure production capacity aligns with customer demand.
  • Support the Sales team to improve commercial awareness, quotation accuracy and customer engagement.
  • Ensure accurate operational data informs business decisions and protects profitability.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, communication and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop managers and employees to improve capability, confidence and performance.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to remove barriers and improve customer experience.

What are we looking for

The successful candidate will understand that sustainable growth is achieved through strong relationships, engaged teams and consistent performance. To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Proven ability to lead and develop collaborative, high performing teams.
  • Demonstrable experience improving operational efficiency, productivity and business performance.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer expectations, operational capability and profitability.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels.
  • Experience within manufacturing, plastics, display, signage or a related production environment is desirable but not essential.

Salary - From £60,000 per annum depending on experience

Bonus – based on year-on-year growth which will be discussed further at interview stage
