About the role
Responsibilities:
- Carry out safety checks, calibrate the CNC machine, read handovers and works orders at the start of every shift
- Ensure that all stock requisition notes are checked & signed prior to cutting/machining
- Read and interpret CAD drawings and production specifications
- Programming, setting and operating CNC Router machines using online and offline CAD/CAM package with data taken from technical drawings
- Programme and draw using Alpha Cam software
- Meet production quality and output levels and make sure they are optimised at all times
- Ensure works orders are signed at first off and completion stages
- To comply with all daily/weekly cleaning and maintenance routines for the CNC Router machine
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment by following company procedures
What experience do you need to have
- Proficient in any recognised CAD/CAM packages, preferably Alpha CAM
- Must have experience of setting and operating a three Axis machine using a CAD/CAM system
- Knowledge and understanding of solid modelling would be highly advantageous, however not essential
- Served a recognised apprenticeship i.e. Mechanical/Production Engineering or Woodworking would be desirable
