Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Trading Analyst Team Lead through 02/27/2026 at 11:59 p.m. London Time. Chevron Supply and Trading provides a critical link between the market and Chevron’s upstream, downstream and chemicals companies. We provide commercial support to our crude oil and natural gas production operations and to our refining and marketing network. We are headquartered in Houston, Texas, and have offices worldwide including trading hubs in Houston, London, and Singapore. Our trading professionals manage commodity transactions averaging five million barrels of liquids and five billion cubic feet of natural gas each day.
We are currently seeking a high-energy professional with sound business acumen and critical thinking skills to join Supply and Trading (S&T) as Team Lead for Trading Analytics. The ideal candidate should be a natural collaborator and leader, eager to learn and grow, and have the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement. The Team Lead works closely with trading, finance, operations, trading enablement, risk control, and IT. They will be responsible for driving system and process improvements across commodities and across regions to create a global alignment of best practices. They will be responsible for establishing culture as well as development of their analysts team. They will be looked at to lead global initiatives and drive incremental commercial value through their team.
Responsibilities:
- Support trading team, including physical and financial activities
- Actively contribute as part of a global trading team through analysis, process improvement, and global adoption of best practices
- Understand, manage, and explain commodity earnings, exposures, and mark-to-market positions across commodities and regions
- Problem solve front, mid, and back-office issues with support teams
- Streamline and simplify business processes
- Ensure data integrity for accurate position, P&L, exposure, and earnings reporting
- Provide back-up support for other Business Analysts
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree + 5 years of experience in energy, financial, or related fields understanding commodity flow, supply chains, and markets.
- Experience managing Mark to Market, PnL, and exposure
- Collaborator and ability to work in demanding environment
- Proven time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly proficient in MS Excel
- Digital mindset and innovative thinker
- Passion to lead and develop others
Preferred Qualifications:
- Finance, Maths, Science or Engineering degree
- Experience in a Trading and/or Sales organization
- Knowledge of refined product or crude commodities
- SAP and RightAngle experience
- Leadership experience
- Power BI expertise
Relocation Options: Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
