O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work across prestigious, high-value construction projects while playing a key role in maintaining and improving health, safety, and wellbeing standards across site operations.
This position offers the chance to become part of a well-established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex projects across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will support project teams in driving a proactive safety culture and ensuring the highest standards of compliance and best practice are maintained throughout all stages of construction.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head of Health & Safety and project delivery teams on all health and safety matters.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the business and supply chain.
- Ensure site activities are carried out in accordance with current legislation, company procedures, and industry best practice.
- Review and assess subcontractor RAMS and safety documentation.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal health and safety procedures and initiatives.
- Deliver toolbox talks and assist with internal training programmes for staff and site teams.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Monitor and encourage continuous improvement in health and safety performance across projects.
- Recognised Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH, NCRQ, or Degree-level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation and construction compliance standards.
- Experience carrying out incident and accident investigations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong organisational and reporting abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
- Valid CSCS card.
